TERMS & CONDITIONS
The following is a summary of the Rental Conditions. Please note that all prices are quoted in South African Rand. Rates and / or conditions quoted in our brochures are subject to change without notice.
RENTAL DURATION
Minimum rental is 5 days and 10 days for collection / return in Botswana / Zimbabwe. When calculating the number of days, the day of collection is counted as day one of the rental regardless of collection time. The day of return is counted as the final day.
DEPOT HOURS FOR PICK-UP & DROP-OFF
Maui Camper Hire has branches in Windhoek, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Maun, Harare and Victoria Falls. Office hours are from Monday to Friday from 08h00 to 16h30. Collections and returns on weekends and public holidays by arrangement only. Sunday collections and returns are subject to a surcharge of R300.
TRANSFER
Airport and local hotel transfers for all branches = R100 per transfer. Windhoek is R200 per transfer.
Excess Reduction Options
Britz Campmobiles offers 4 very competitive excess reduction options for peace of mind during your holiday.
No Cover
In the event of any damage to either a Britz Campmobiles vehicle or third party vehicle / property, the hirer will be liable for the first R75 000. The hirer will also be fully liable for replacement or repair of windscreen and / or radio. The excess of R75 000 can be paid by cash, traveller’s cheques or credit card (a manual imprint of the credit card will be taken and the amount will have to be authorised by the bank ). This is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date, with no damage incurred to the Britz Campmobiles vehicle or third party vehicle / property. Hirer is also responsible for all tyre damage.
Standard Cover
At R110 per day this cover will reduce this excess for any damage to either the Britz Campmobiles vehicle or third party vehicle / property to R30 000. The excess of R30 000 can be paid by cash, traveller’s cheques or credit card (a manual imprint of the credit card will be taken). This is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date, with no damage incurred to the Britz Campmobiles vehicle or third party vehicle / property.
Super Cover
Super Cover at R135 per day will reduce this excess for any damage to either the Britz Campmobiles vehicle or third party vehicle / property to R15 000. The option of Super Cover will also waive the excess for replacement or repair of windscreen and / or radio.
Exclusive Cover
Exclusive Cover at R220 per day for all vehicles will reduce the excess for any damage to either the Britz Campmobiles vehicle or third party vehicle / property to Zero. The option of Exclusive Cover will also waive the excess for replacement or repair of windscreen and / or radio as well as covering all tyre damages.
EXCLUSIONS
The hirer will be fully liable for any damage to the Britz Campmobiles vehicle or third party vehicle / property if:
INFRINGEMENTS
Britz Campmobiles reserves the right to charge the hirer for any speeding or parking fines, associated administration costs and / or accidents including third party vehicle / property damage not reported on the return of the vehicle.
ACCIDENTS
EXCHANGE RATE / CURRENCY VARIATIONS
All credit card transactions are conducted in South African Rand. Due to exchange rate fluctuations there could be some variance in the amount refunded compared to the amount initially charged. Britz Campmobiles accepts no liability for any variances up or down.
CREDIT CARDS
If a credit card is presented as payment, the credit card holder will be jointly and severally liable as a customer.
LICENCE
A valid non-endorsed driver's licence is required - international licence is preferred.
MINIMUM AGE
Drivers must be 21 years or older.
MULTIPLE RENTALS
Multiple rentals can be combined to qualify the renter for our long-term rate. Campmobiles rentals in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa can be combined to qualify if travel is within a 3-month period e.g. one 14-day rental plus one 7-day rental qualifies for the 21-day rate.
ROAD RESTRICTIONS
Vehicles may be taken into South Africa's neighboring states but are not allowed into Angola or Malawi. All insurance cover is void if vehicles enter prohibited areas.
Britz Campmobiles reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions, political situations or any other reason.
REPAIRS
Repairs of up to R1 000 may be effected without authorization and will be reimbursed upon presentation of receipts. When over R1 000 we need to be contacted for authorisation.
CHANGE OF VEHICLE
Britz Campmobiles reserves the right to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle should the requested vehicle not be available due to unforeseen circumstances. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the hirer to any refund.

If vehicle is returned early for any reason no refund will be considered.
14% VAT is included in gross rates. Above prices are subject to change in accordance with changes in government taxes.
PETS
No pets are permitted in our vehicles.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTIONS
Voyager 4WD :
This all-wheel drive vehicle was developed around the very reliable Toyota Hilux 2.7 litre Doublecab. This utility vehicles offers absolute comfort for four persons on your Safari through South Africa. The storage capacity for your luggage is situated at the back in the closed load area of the vehicle.
Adventurer 4WD :
The Adventurer Campmobile is developed around the Toyota Hilux (Single Cabin) chassis. It comes with all necessary camping equipment, including bedding and camping lamps. It offers comfortable sleeping facilities for two persons.
Safari 4WD :
This 2.7 ltr. Toyota Hilux Double Cab is ideal for the rough terrain found in Africa. Even under these rugged conditions, the Safari Campmobile still offers comfort and more than enough space for seating and sleeping for four persons in the two rooftop tents. Camping equipment and luggage are practically stored in the specially design load-area. Two spare tyres are also included.
Nomad 4WD :
The Land Rover Defender Td5, the newest addition to the Britz fleet and a very popular vehicles amongst adventurers, offers comfort and reliability for 4 persons. The two rooftop tents are comfortable and are very easy to errect. This vehicle was completely transformed into an off-road campmobile and is equiped with all necessary camping equipment including two spare tyres.
Bushcamper 4WD :
At the top of the range is the Bushcamper Campmobile, which is developed around a Toyota Landcruiser. This is the ultimate safari vehicle, which can be driven on nearly any terrain. The Bushcamper is equiped with all necessary gear, which allows you to enjoy your safari in comfort!
Trax 4WD :
Our Trax Campmobile is a new concept, which was created especially for Safari Tours to create ideal conditions for both the day and the night. The rooftop tent has been generously design to allow a double bed. If you enjoy your comfort in the outdoors, you should hire the all-wheel drive Trax Campmobile.
